Community coaches are a diverse group. They support a wide range of participants who come from participant playing communities.

The ideal community coach will:

  • Nurture a love of netball, focus on skill development, decision making and a non linear approach to skill development.
  • Understand the needs of players in the participation phase.
  • Reinforce ethical approaches to sport and recreation.
  • Provide for players needs and aspirations
  • Be in the business of creating better people not just players.
  • Have a sense of belonging to a wider coaching community with similar goals.

ACC Netball Smart Warm Up

This link will direct you the Netball Smart warm up aimed at all levels of players. The research on this warm up is that it will reduce injuries by 40% when completed in its entirety 2-3 times a week.

Coach education - What's on offer for you? 

Foundation Coaching - For coaches working with primary or intermediate aged children.

These are introductory or refresher workshops for all primary and intermediate coaches aimed at giving coaches a good understanding and basic knowledge of netball fundamentals skills.

Community Coaching - Level 1(technical) and Level 2(tactical)

(A Netball NZ Qualification) Aimed at coaches with 2 or more years coaching experience wanting to develop more specific areas of their coaching and working towards a recognised qualification.

Performance Coaching - Must have CCA level 2 and be actively coaching in the performance area (National  U17/U19/Premier Club)

To be eligible for this award you must meet the following criteria:

Applications can be downloaded from the NNZ website, must be endorsed by the Centre and then the Zone.

The Zone will interview the applicant and make recomendations to NNZ.
